Dry matter partitioning and petiolar NO3-N levels at four available soil moisture treatments in cotton [Philippines]
1987
Tabugader, W.A. | Cosico, V.B.
The total dry matter weight among treatments did not vary at the early crop stages. Variations was noted at 70 DAE with the 70% ASM treatment recording the heaviest dry-weight. However at 90-100 DAE, the 80 percent ASM (Available Soil Moisture) treatment gave the heaviest dry matter. Both the vegetative and reproductive parts favored dry matter production by the higher levels of ASM. The irrigation treatment when ASM dropped to 70% favored the highest petiolar NO3-N content at 70 DAE, while the 50% ASM treatment registered aero nitrate-nitrogen. Fruiting and water use efficiencies in all treatments were not significant from each other.
