Szmigiel, A. (Akademia Rolnicza, Krakow (Poland). Katedra Szczegolowej Uprawy Roslin)
The author presents the effects of nitrogen fertilization in following doses: 0, 100, 200 and 399 kg N per ha given before the preceeding crop (winter rape and maize) on the content of total nitrogen in plants during vegetation2032 and on the yield of winter wheat. He ascertained that fertilization effected an increase in total nitrogen content in wheat plants during the phase of propagation within 3.106% and 4.983% as depending on the fertilizer dose, the kind of forecrop and the course of the weather. The after-effect of nitrogen fertilizers applied before rape and maize caused an increase of wheat yield on the average by 2.88 tons per ha, in controls - up to 4.44 t/ha after applying the highest fertilizer
