The cockerels were fed on diets containing between 10 and 23% of protein from 3 to 7 weeks of age. An increase of dietary protein content from 10.1 to 15.5% caused an inc1616rease of pectoralis superficialis muscles weight from 37 to 70 g, a significant increase of dry matter and total nitrogen content and a decrease of fat and creatine content in muscle.
