The investigations have shown that the herbicide treatment of the soil determined the size and the distribution of the root system of the currants. In the soil layer 0-10 cm treated with herbicides three times as many roots of currants were found than in that where the weeds were removed mechanically. The leaves of currants growing in the all-over herbicide soil contained more mineral compounds, especially, potassium and nitrogen than in the plants0953from the soil weeded mechanically. (Auth
