Al-Najar, S.J.T.
Investigating the effect of different cereal varieties on the biology of the first and second generations of Angoumois grain moth found that seeds(wheat, barley, rice and yellow corn) varieties had varying effects on pre and post-oviposition, incubation period, larval and pupal stage development period, length generation and number of eggs laid, average productivity percentage and male and female longevity. Mating of fertilized or unfertilized female had varying effects on the biology, developmental stages and female longevity while, mating and unmating male affected its longevity. The percentage of damage and loss in weight varied in different seeds and varieties and while percentage of germination of infested seeds was zero% in healthy seeds germination varied according to varieties
