Cecidia are certain growth deformations of cells, tissues or organs of plants, formed under the influence of a parasite. The acarocecidia of the native fruit trees and shrubs are exclusively caused by gall mites, a group of plant parasites the economic importance of which is usually more considerable than their conspicuous damage. These plants are accessible anywhere and nearly all forms of organoid and histoid cecidia, induced by eriophyid mites, can be demonstrated on them. Ten gall mite species and their cecidia formation are presented
