Varietal resistance of red clover to root pathogens
1991
Vanco, B. (Vyskumny Ustav Rastlinnej Vyroby, Piestany (CSFR))
In greenhouse conditions, 79 diploid and 51 tetraploid genotypes were tested for resistance to sclerotinia rot of clover, while 79 diploid and 41 tetraploid genotypes of red clover were tested for resistance to root rot. Domestic as well as foreign varieties and selection materials were used. 4 diploid and 7 tetraploid genotypes ranked among the most resistant to root rot while 4 diploid and 2 tetraploid ones were the most resistant to the rot caused by sclerotinia. No positive correlation was found between sclerotinia rot of clover and root rot attacks within individual sets. 3 diploid and 4 tetraploid genotypes belong to those with the complex resistance to both diseases.
