1991
Bodova, Z. (Vyskumny Ustav Rastlinnej Vyroby, Piestany (CSFR))
The study of the foreign and home-grown assortment of 34 triticale varieties on the presence of dwarfing genes was carried out and the origin of these genes in the Czechoslovak genotypes on the basis of available data was estimated. Varieties were divided into 2 groups - insensitive to GA3 (Rht 1) and sensitive to GA3 (Rht-). Rht genes were found in 5 Czechoslovak, 3 Polish, 2 Soviet, 1 Hungarian, 1 British and 1 Bulgarian varieties. The analysis proved that it would be difficult to speak about conditional relations between the height, occurrence of Rht genes and lodging. In varieties with Rht genes, the height was in range from 86.5 - 139 cm. The height of the others was between 94.2 - 145 cm. The presence of Rht genes in the Czechoslovak assortment is connected with materials originating from the Plant-Breeding Station Uhretice. The results of pedigree analysis indicate that genes Rht 1, Rht 2 come from Mexican components, Rht 3 from variety Bokolo and Rht 8 from variety Bezostaja.
