A comparative economic analysis has been made between the seedlingless tomato growing technique with simultaneous black film mulching on the one side and the traditional technique of tomato growing on an elevated flat bed, on the other side. It has been found that the efficiency of the seedlingless tomato growing technique with polyethylene mulch depends on the labour payment rate and on the yields. The increased expenses for film and seeds with the mulcing technique can be compensated by the reduced labour consumption with a labour payment rate of over 31 leva per man/hour.
