The aim of these investigations was to determine the distribution of soil microorganisms in the soil taking into account soil surface area, soil porosity, water content and others soils characteristics. Two soils were used in these experiments: chernozem soil and brown loessial soil. The distribution of microorganisms were determined. Microorganism distribution in the soil depends on type of the soil, size of aggregates and on the composition and characteristics of both soils. In chernozem rendzina, oligotrophic bacteria, fungi, and ammonifiers distributed mainly in the inner part of aggregates. The applied methodology can be used to characterize soil units.
