Influence of plants on oviposition behaviour of cabbage root fly (Delia radicum)

Method of monitoring of oviposition behaviour of cabbage root fly was tested in field conditions. The amount of eggs laid on plants of cauliflower was counted in 7-day intervals during the period of flying activity of the first generation in 1992 and 1994. The amount of laid eggs is affected by the size and growth stage of plants. Maximum of oviposition activity was found at the beginning of head forming. Later the number of laid eggs was much lower.
