Victorian extension officers - their work, views and attitudes on extension

A survey conducted in June 1987 collected data on the background and experience of extension officers, their level of competence in extension skills and the adequacy of resources in their work. The work satisfaction of extension officers was assessed, as were their views on current extension issues. Information was also collected on extension methods used and the allocation of time to various extension tasks. Implications for management on supervision, training, policy implementation and resourcing are discussed.
