In a survey of parasites of the fighting breed of chickens, thirty two species of ecto- and endoparasites were encountered. The parasites include seven species of protozoa, nine species of nematodes, seven species of cestodes, two species of trematodes and seven species of ectoparasites. Eimeria sp., Leucocytozoon sp., Plasmodium sp., Ascaridia galli, Heterakis sp., Dispharynx spiralis, Tetrameres sp. and the various species of cestodes are considered importand parasites of birds because of the frequent occurrence and their known pathogenic effects
