The paper describes pest and predatory insects which contribute, on a natural way, to the reduction of pest populations of stalky cereals, maize and lucerne crops in Romania. Parasition of cereals bugs eggs, Eurygaster sp. by some Chalcidoidea species was of 32.8 percent. Cephus pygmaeus L. larvae were parasitised by Coyria coxator Will. in various rates from one year to another (5-66 percent). Schhizaphis graminum Rond. and Rhopalosiphum maidis Fitch. were parasitized by Aphidiidae and destroyed by 23 species of predatory insects. Ostrinia nubialis Hbn. eggs were parasitized especially by Trichogramma maidis Pint. and Trichogramma evanescens Westw., while its pupae are parasitized in a high number of Lidella thompson Htg. and Sinophorus crassifemur Thoms. Larval parasition of Contarinia medicaginis Kieff. by chalcidoides in the lucerne crops covered areas in Moldavia was of 35 percent, while of those in Muntenia of 53.8 percent. Under controlled laboratory conditions a Coccinella septempunctata L. destroys in a 24 hours interval 244 individuals of Myzodes persicae Sulz., while one of Coccinella 14-pustulata L. only 36 affides. In the stalky cereals crops 32 predatory insects species were found, in the maize crops 33, which in the lucerne ones 46 species belonging to the orders: Neuroptera, Heteroptera, Coleoptera and Diptera.
