Comparative efficiency of feed utilisation in Landrace and Peris Synthetic line pig breeds

A number of 16 male young pigs of Landrace and 345 Synthetic line Peris divided in 2 groups of 8 animals each was used. The animals received the same diets, differentiated according to age and body weight. Comparatively analysing the average daily gain, the average intake of CF and the specific intake for the entire experimental period (91 days) the following results were obtained: Landrace Race - ADG 0.690 kg; Average intake of CF: 2.399 kg; Specific intake: 3.477 kg. 345 SL Peris Race - ADG 0.833 kg; Average intake of CF 2.727 kg; Specific intake: 3.274 kg.
