Research experiment included forty heavy type hens (Hybro), divided into four groups (10 hens per group). The control group of hens received the standard diet; the first treated group received the diet supplemented with 10 mg the second 50 mg and the third 100 mg lead as lead acetate/kg. After the statistical elaboration of results (during 90 days of the experiment), significant inhibition of erythrocyte delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALAD) activity in treated hens was noticed. No significant changes in hemoglobin content and hematocrit values of treated hens were noticed.
