Extractives yields and polyflavanoid contents of Acacia mearnsii barks in Australia

For bark samples from 94 trees located across the species' natural distribution, the average extractives yield was 53 percent. Highest yields were from Tasmania. The average Stiasny value of extractives was 85.8 percent, with Victorian samples showing the highest values. The average polyflavanoid content was 46.4 percent, with highest values from Victoria and Tasmania. The provenances in Victoria appear to provide the least variable quality of barks, with the highest polyflavanoid contents.
