Two feeding trials were conducted to study the nutritional value of Rastraneobola fish meal in broiler chichens diets. Experiment 1 was designed to detect the presence of any toxin (s) or anti-nutritional factors in the Rastraneobola fish meal, and to compare its nutritional value with that of Manhaden fish meal. Experimental diets were iso-nitrogenous and iso-caloric containing 24 and 2300 Kcal of metabolizable energy (ME) per Kg of diet. Both fish meals were included at levels of 2.5, 5, 10 and 20. In experiment 2, the ME content and the effect of Rastraneobola fish meal supplementation on nitrogen retention were determined. It was observed that both Rastraneobola and Menhaden meals stimulated highly significant (p 0.01) weight gains at all levels of supplementation. The addition of up to 20 Rastraneobola meal in the diet did not adversely affect growth and efficiency of feed utilization by broiler chicks indicating that toxins were not present in the fish meal. There was improved nitrogen retention 55 in diets containing the Rastraneobola meal when compared to the control diet 50 and the overall nutritional value of the fish meal compared favourably with taht of the control data also revealed that Rastraneobola fish meal contained 4.01 Kcal per Kg of diet
