Equine recurrent uveitis is an important ocular disease and worldwide the most common cause for blindness in horses and mules. The anatomy, physiology, immunology, and inflammatory reactions of the uveal tract are discussed. Possible etiologies and the clinical signs are described. A detailed description of possible therapies is given and the prognosis is discussed
