Bramble bushes - a problem in forestry?
1997
Barten, R. (Forstliche Forschungsanstalt Eberswalde, FFE e.V., Eberswalde (Germany))
A survey among state and private forest officers between 1993 to 1996 has shown that foresters consider bramble bushes (Rubus fructicosus) as harmful competition to forest cultures and young growth. Particularly bramble bushes have a negative impact on oaks. It has been proven in several research projects that Glyphosate-preparations can oppress bramble bushes successfully. The Biologische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig legalized "Touchdown" as a preparation against bramble bushes in deciduous forest cultures in Germany.
