Two experiments were performed, the first one in practice and the second one in the laboratory. In the first experiment two additives: Ensimax-E (formic acid, formaldehyde, sugars) and Plantanaze-P (L. plantarum, L. pentosaceus, cellulolytic enzymes) were used at ensiling fresh (less than 200 g DM/kg) and wilted (less than 400 g DM/kg) grass. In the second experiment the grass-legume mixture was ensiled in 18 laboratory silos, 9 with P, 9 without any additive. In both trials the original herbage was chopped. From the first experiment 24 silage samples were taken (12 with E, 12 with P). Silos in the second trial were opened for the first time after five days, and for the second time nine months after the ensiling. It was established that Plantanaze improved the estimation according to Flieg (P 0,001), diminished the content of NH3-N (P0,001), diminished mass losses (P0,01) and increased the energetic value.
