Determination of price on the basis of carcass quality

The methods of price determination on the basis of pig carcass quality are presented for Great Britain, Denmark, Germany and The Netherlands. The common characteristic of present methods is a large restriction of price in obese pigs or in the pigs which are not within the desired limits of carcass weight. For Slovenia the systems used in Germany and The Netherlands are suggested. Particularly the lean pigs with larger carcass weight are stimulated.
