Building gender-sensitive activities in agricultural extension programmes

A report based on the workshop that was held by IICA in conjuction with the Ministry of Agriculture on gender sensitive activities in agricultural extension programmes is contained herein. Studies have shown that in the Caribbean women play important roles as household heads, agricultural entrepeneurs, small business managers. As such, they should be included in extension programmes so that they too can benefit from technical information and services offered by the advisory staff in the Ministry of Agriculture.
