In 1995 and 1996 the content of hazardous elements (As, Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Zn) was studied in plant organs and final products (seed, oil meals) of winter rape during the growing season under the simultaneous investigation of the level of contamination of farm soils in selected six localities of the Czech Republic with various degree of load of environment. Of all investigated hazardous pollutants, particularly As, Cr and Zn were accumulated most in roots, followed by Hg in aboveground parts. Also Pb and Cd were mainly accumulated in the root segment. Cd, Hg and Pb were most accumulated in rape straw, Zn in seed. In As and Cr no significant differences were found. Statistically significant relations were detected between Pb content in soil and in aboveground part and between Hg content in soil and oil meal.
