[Effect of coconut oil addition in artificial feeds on growth and body composition of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.)]

An observation using coconut oil as dietary lipid source and feed additive was conducted to evaluate its effect on the growth and body composition of carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). In general, the supplement of coconut oil on fish feed has improve and increase the daily growth, feeding efficiency, energy efficiency and protein efficiency ratio (PER). The addition of coconut oil at a level of 10 percent has provide optimum growth. While the effect on body composition of fish, the supplementation coconut oil from 5-10 percent has increase the moisture and lipid content of whole body and in the contrary was obtained in hepatopancrease. While the addition coconut oil in the range of 10-15 percent has increased the protein content of whole body and decreased the lipid content
