Assessment of Pulp Yield and Lignin Content in a First-generation Clonal Testing of Eucalyptus globulus in Portugal

Results are presented for pulp yield and lignin content of 11 E. globulus clones and one E. globulus seedling control measured at 8.5 years in one clonal trial. The obtained results confirmed that the clones in Trial C499 did not improve substantially on the genetically unimproved seedling control. Regarding pulp production, only clone B9 proved to be superior to the seedling control by about 5, clonal heritability estimations for pulp yield and lignin control were 0,83
