Ecological and economic aspects of the land evaluation on the regional level

The regional specifics of the agricultural land potential of Slovakia are interpreted by the different structure of the Typological-Productivity Categories on the level of Pedo-Ecological Areas, Pedo-Ecological Subareas and Regions. Based on the real land use data and typological productivity categories maps comparison, it can be concluded that the present land use structure in several regions of Slovakia is not in direct correlation with the productivity potential of the territorial entities. Therefore, the first steps of the harmonization of the ecological factors and human demands on inevitably land use restructuralization. The sustainable land use modelling and landscape ecologization are the final objectives of solution.
