Regional differences of agricultural land prices in Slovakia

The agricultural land market is only forming in the Slovak conditions. The official (administrative) land prices have their unavoidable role at present and they will have probably similar role also in the near future. These prices do not incorporate the issue of location rent (location, accessibility of particular piece of land, consumption possibilities etc.) although location factor has significant influence on effectiveness of agricultural production. Although these official prices are not sufficiently objective, they are helpful especially in the processes dealing with property rights transfers, land reorganisations, in the taxation of agricultural land, and also in the distribution of subsidies to entrepreneurs in agriculture.
