Two groups of regenerants of spring and winter character derived from interspecific hybrids Brassica napus x B. rapa using microspore culture method were evaluated with regard to plant habit, fertility, seed set, seed colour and chromosome number. Three types of plant habit segregated within the regenerants which corresponded to both parental species and an intermediate type. Results of karyological analyses proved the considerable cytological variability between regenerants and even between individual seeds of one self-pollinated plant. Most of regenerants reduced fertility and lower seed set. Pure yellow seeds occurred only in segregated B. rapa types with chromosome number 2 n=20. Yellow seeds with a dark spot on the hilum were found in only eight plants of B. napus and the intermediate type from 51 evaluated regenerants. The other plants of all habit type had mostly yellow-dark spotted seeds. None of regenerants showed four valved pods.
