Influence of certain technological factors on the yield and the quality of the essential oil from the leaves of Eucalyptus Citriodora Hook growing in Crete, Greece
1995
Mejdoub, R.
The Eucalyptus citriodora Hook. leaves yield an important oil that is highly valuated in perfumery owing to its richness in Citronellel content. Yield and composition of essential oil from Eucalyptus citriodora Hook. (growing in Crete, Greece) leaves were evaluated, using different dryness procedures (open air and oven dryness) and different winning methods (Hydrodistillation, Simultaneous Distillation Extraction, of integral and commuted leaves of different processing durations). The chemical composition of the essential oil was determined by GC and GC?MS. The dryness and the extraction process proved to have highly significant effects on the essential oil yield (1.77-4.50 percent). Most of the studied essential oil components underwent significant simultaneous effects of distillation and dryness parameters on their yields.
