Nitric oxide, an endogenously produced free radicals, plays an important role in the regulation of circulation and neurotransmission in the brain. When produced in excessive amounts in ischemic and postichemic brain NO was found to exert numerous neurotoxic influences. In the present work thhey testing the effects of NO on enzymes and matebolism of acetyl-CoA and their relationship to changes in ACh matabolism in nerve terminals isolated from rat brain
