Effect of different covering methods on the yield and quality of parthenocarpic cucumber

The parthenocarpic cucumber cv. Marinda was protected with the use of different kinds of covers and grown in the open field. The favourable conditions under covers (high level of transmittance and soil temperature) brought about an intense plant growth and thus the first crop was obtained 7-18 days earlier than in the open field. The highest marketable yield was obtained under PE tunnel. The content of dry weight, and total sugar was on the similar level in cucumber fruit from all treatments. The highest content of Fe, Mg, Ca, K was found in the fruits from PE tunnel
