1998
Dobek, T. (Akademia Rolnicza, Szczecin (Poland). Inst. Inzynierii Rolniczej)
The effects of cultivars on harvest losses of sugar beets were studied in 1994-97 on 7 beet cultivars. The quality of beet topping, extent of root damages, quantity of impurities, harvest losses (not digged and lost roots) and soil moisture content were measured. The lowest losses occurred in Sema beet cv.; they averaged 3.1%, while the highest (4.58%) in Forman cv. In the case of Sema cv. the lowest losses were in 1995 at soil moisture content 17.5%, while the highest at soil m.c. 23.2% in 1996
