Early detecting of plant diseases by using microwaves

A microvawe method for early detecting of plant diseases was presented. The method is based on observation of the changes in dielectric and magnetic permeabilities of vegetation material under microwave frequency irradiation as a function of plant moisture content. Plant diseases include some changes in moisture content of plants' leaves. To detect plant disease development a non-destructive microvawe technique was developed on the basis of a plant leaf dielectric model. Theoretical grounds of developed technique and an experiment conducted on maize plants artificially infected with Helminthosporum turcicum were described
