The article is focused on methodological aspects of competitiveness of agriculture assessment. For the possibility to assess the competitiveness of the agrarian sector, it is necessary to take into account especially the level and variability of financial results of individual firms, position of domestic agriculture in the framework of intersectoral and international comparison, externalities existence coming from different level of monopsony position of food industry and trade and the level of monopolisation in the supplying industries, and last but not least the character of economic and agricultural policy. Classification of factors influencing the competitiveness of agriculture is presented in the paper.
