Stability of agronomic traits in sugar beet hybrids

Due to evaluation of genotype (G) and environmental (E) effects, and their interactions, in the field experiments in 1996 and 1997 year, on the three locations (Osijek, Dakovo, Magadenovac) have been tested production values of the 17 sugar beet genotypes (hybrids). After analysis of variance, on the level of tested years and combined analysis of variance by localities, established differences among environments, genotypes and their interactions had a significant influence on the yield of investigated traits, and therefore a stability analysis was done by estimation of stability parameters. On basis of the estimated stability parameters, on two-year level, the genotypes of high yield stability were: for root yield - Kristal, Jela and Rita; sugar content - Os Ana, Kawemaja, Marika and Jela; sugar recovery - Dunja, Jela, Kristal and Marika; and for white sugar yield - Jela, Barbara, Dunja and Kristal.
