As compared to the Nadwislanski cultivar, the plants under investigation were characterised by a 1 to 6 days longer period from planting to the beginning of flowering, but 18 to 20 days shorter period of flowering and 4 to 9 days shorter growing season, and besides, a smaller number and lower weight of seeds per plant. In Sk 926 and Sk 4367, considered to be the best strains, the number of pods per plant was 8.6 and 2.4 higher, respectively, than in the traditional Nadwislanski cultivar. In other strains, the proportion of pods per plant was from 1.2 to 34.5 percent lower as compared to the Nadwislanski. The seed yield of the best Sk 673 strain was 7.5 percent lower than that of the Nadwislanski, whereas the Bk Sk 767. The seed yields were positively correlated with the weight of seeds per plant (r=0.739), the number of pods (r=0.676) and the number of seeds per plant (r=0.666)
