Impact of varying soil cultivation techniques on water erosion volume in particular hydrologic periods
1997
Klima, K. (Academy of Agriculture, Cracow (Poland))
The results obtained during this study showed that winter plouging reduced the amounts of soil loss by half in time of the winter hydrological half-year compared to the sities-sown with winter crops, and increased it by 500 percent compared to the control meadow. Presowing, crop care and broad-rill sowing of beets increased the soil loss 50 times compared to the control meadow during the summer hydrological half-year. Comparing to all the investigated zones (of slope), in the upper zone there were higher soil losses (increased by en average of 13-18 percent) and lower subsurface sheet runoff
