Layout planning at intermittent process

In the article some layout planning methods, which are useful at so called intermittent processes, are presented. We discussed in details about improved heuristic treatment where with progressive sistematic exchange pairs of working devices on strong displaceable locations we are looking for a solution, which is better than starting one. As qantitative criterion for audit of economical effect of displacement we are taking whole changeable transportation costs between working devices in determined time period of transportation quantities of materials, workpieces and halfproducts. Method is also useful for planning of displacing machines and devices in some specific timber industry productions.
