The study aimed to compare the growth kinetics of three cell densities of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in suspension cultures and to determine the growth pattern and proportion of inoculum to the medium volume. The suspension cultures were initiated from 3, 6 and 12 grams of callus derived from immature embryo in Polish winter wheat Almari cv. The crumbled tissues were placed in liquid Murashige and Skoog medium. Growth characteristics and biophysical change in the medium were monitored during 14-day culture period. The growth kinetics of culture types were analysed on the basis of cell number, settled cell volume, fresh and dry matter, pH, viability, electric conductivity and osmolarity
