Effect of growth retardants on growth and flowering of Lavandula stoechas, grown in plastic greenhouse
1997
Papageorgiou, I.
To transform the natural structural development and to produce uniform, compact, flowered plants for commercial use of Lavandula stoechas, plant growth retardants were used in homogeneous rooted cuttings following 29 days in the mist propagation. The plants were sprayed with Paclobutrazol PP333 of 0, 200, 400 and 600 ppm in a single or double application and with Cycocel CCC of 4000, 6000 and 8000 ppm in a single, double or triple application. Application sprays were repeated every 13 days. Lateral shoot length and lateral shoot node number were measured every 20 days while plant height are the end of the experimentation, the required days to flowering and the percentage of flowering of 1st order shoots, were also determined.
