Fertilization with potassium modifies the yield and, in particular, its quality considerably. The study investigated the effects of diversified K fertilization on the qualitative and quantitative changes in pepper fruit. Red fruit showed a higher biological value than the green fruit. Increasing rates of potassium, particulary in red fruit, affected the contens of vitamin C and total sugars. The K fertilization applied resulted in a slight increase in potassium and nitrogen contents in leaves and fruit. Pepper fruit picked up at the same time as the research sample contained as much as 20 times less N-NO3, 6 times less magnessium, 3 times less calcium and 1.75 times less potassium than the leaf research sample
