Effect of plant training method on fruit yield and its quality fot three pepper cultivars grown on rock wool
2001
Kobryn, J. (Szkola Glowna Gospodarstwa Wiejskiego, Warszawa (Poland). Wydzial Ogrodnictwa i Architektury Krajobrazu)
The research investigated two training methods of three pepper cultivars grown on rock wool in the glasshouse. Pepper stems were limited to 2 or 3 at the density of 2.7 plants per m square; number of shoots - 5.4 and 8.1 per m square, respectivily. It was found that such training had an effect neither on the total and marketable yields nor on the incidence of blossom and rot. However the number of shoots affected the fruit weight significantly. Sweet pepper yielding was similar across cultivars, unlike the susceptibility to blossom and rot
