Paper discussed the effect of farm equipment with combine harvesters on harvest costs, depending on the situation in production-market environment. Unitary costs of cereal harvesting were analysed at four assumed strategies of farm equipment with combine harvesters and grain yields from 30 to 70 dt/ha. The costs of grain harvest at using one from among four strategies ranged within 2.66-9.72 PLN/dt. The costs depended on assumed strategy of farm equipment with combine harvesters, situation in production-market environment and grain yields. At higher grain yields and normal market-production relations the harvesting costs tended to be lower even at greater number of combines available on the farm
