The purpose of the work was to study, in more details, the effect of acidifiction on some selected surface properties of brown forest soil: surface area, water vapour adsorption energy and variable surface charge. It was stated that with the increase of acid load the surface area increased. The apparent surface dissociation constans decreased with acid load increase indicating the weakening of the acid character of surface functional group
