Slaughter value of lambs in native Blackheaded sheep and crossbred from Romanov rams

The aim of this study was to analyse postslaughter features in 20 young rams aged 90 days. Two groups of the animals were used - group I consisted of home Blackheaded lambs and group II comprised crossbred F1 lambs from Romanov rams. The study revealed the slightly higher (by 1.8 percent) dressing percentage of chilled carcasses, significantly higher kidney fat content and significantly lower skin weight in crossbred F1 lambs than those found in the animals of the group I. Percentage of valuable cuts were similar in both the animal groups
