Chemical composition of composts and vermicomposts of municipal and industrial sewage sludge

It was found that sewage sludge composting with various components, particularly vermicomposting improved the matrial structure. The origin of sewage sludge influenced the composts chemical composition more than added organic component. Vermicomposting decreased organic carbon and total nitrogen contents. Ezamined composts and vermicomposts were abundant in calcium and sodium as a result of their high contents in the sewage sludge. From the point of view of environmental protection, heavy metal contents weer within the allowable limit, except for a too high chromium level
