Preliminary results of a study on growing of Gaultheria procumbens L., in the conditions of Olsztyn [Poland]

The growing of Gaultheria procumbens L. was begun in 1999, in the Experimental Garden of the Dept. of Horticulture, UWM Olsztyn. It was planted in three replications, on plots covering an area of 3.04 square m each. The spacing 0.3 x 0.4 m. In spring 2000 fertilization with ammonium sulfate (20 and 40 kg/ha) was applied. The control plot was not fertilized. It was found that plants grown on substrate fertilized with 20 kg N/ha were the highest, with the largest number of steme and fruit, and the longest stems
