Herbicides as a factor shaping the weed communities in winter rye

The results of six-year experiment (1993-98) on changes in weed communities in winter rye as influenced by herbicides application are presented. The winter rye was grown in the six-course crop rotation: potato-oats-fibre flax-winter rye-winter bean-winter triticale as well as in 26-31 year-long monoculture. In the experiment for the weed control were applicated five herbicides. The herbicides proved the highest effectiveness in crop rotation - not in monoculture: the number of weeds was reducted by 78-87.5 percent
