Experiments were carried out in 1997-99. The influence of forecrop manures (of field pea, oat, and mixtures of these plants) and of farmyard manure was examined on the content of dry matter and of sugars cabbage. A profitable influence of green manures of farmyard manure was observed on the nutritive content of white cabbage cultivated after vetch (9.44) to mixture of vetch from field pea (9.14) and field pea (9.12), last - after oat (8.75), to mixture of vetch oat (8.96) and farmyard manure (9.00). Cultivation of cabbage after farmyard manure and field pea gave the highest content of monosaccharides (4.19 f.m.) and 4.06). Cabbage cultivated after vetch (3.90 f.m.), mixture of vetch witch oat (3.93 f.m.) and mixture of vetch from field pea (3.98 f.m.) contained most profitably influenced by cultivation after vetch (7.15 f.m.), field pea (7.11 f.m.) mixture of oat with field pea (7.08 f.m.) and oat (7.02 f.m.). A positive influence was found out of ploughing down of after harvest residues on the content of dry matter in cabbage
